Introduction of the Management Team

Member of the Board

Kojiro Tsumatori

After graduating from university, I joined Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in 1983.
I had a strong desire to "go abroad and live abroad." Among the Southeast Asian countries that were booming at the time, I admired Nagamasa Yamada (who was active there as a Japanese) and wanted to go to Thailand. In 1988, I used the company's study abroad program to study at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand (for one year).
After that, I will work at Mitsui & Co. in Thailand for three years, supporting the establishment and operation of overseas joint ventures of Japanese companies.
In 1992, I returned to Japan and promoted direct transactions with retailers (SPA-type retailers), which was still a new approach for trading companies.
Challenge overseas production, distribution improvement, parallel import, etc.
In 1999, I was transferred to Mitsui & Co., Ltd.'s Strategic Research Institute in recognition of his experience in the retail-related business Planning.
After considering convenience stores and USA supermarkets, we focused on the TV shopping business, and promoted a joint venture between Mitsui and QVC, the world's largest TV shopping company.
After the establishment of the new company QVC Japan in 2000, I was transferred to the company and was in charge of the product division (Merchandising Division), where I gathered staff, developed suppliers, procured products, and built various infrastructures (distribution warehouses, call centers, etc.).
I returned to Mitsui & Co. from QVC Japan Co., Ltd., and decided to try a completely different field for the second half of my life. I left Mitsui & Co. in 2002 and joined Nagase Brothers Inc. (Dongjin High School), an education and human resource development company.
Executive Officer, General Manager of Business Planning Office, General Manager of New School Office, General Manager of Human Resources Department, and General Manager of Business School Headquarters.
At the headquarters of the Business School, I met university students every day at a business school for university students. While they were talking passionately about their "global mind (aiming for overseas markets) and venture spirit (entrepreneurial spirit)," I decided to challenge myself and left Nagase. In 2014, I and my colleagues established Magic Box Co., Ltd.
As a distribution-related consulting business, it has supported various businesses, especially in the overseas field and the TV shopping field.
As part of its efforts to strengthen the overseas operations of its business partners, I supported the establishment and operation of local subsidiaries in Taiwan.
In the TV shopping business, the company developed and sold original cosmetics and health foods to TV shopping companies.
In 2023, I became the Board Member of Oak Lawn Marketing Co., Ltd.
Drawing on our experience to date, we are promoting the development of attractive products for customers (especially senior citizens), the creation of fans (CRM), the strengthening of partnerships with overseas companies, and overseas sales.
My hobbies are drinking with my rugby friends who I have been playing with high school, university and working people, playing golf and watching matches.
My favorite book is Mr. Tempu Nakamura's.
My favorite phrase is "challenge and creation."
